Information
Minnesota Truck Accident Laws
In addition to Federal regulation laws, there are also several laws which protect truck drivers and their companies from pedestrian accidents, high way accidents, fatalities, and law suits. They include:
Jackknifing Laws:
Jackknifing occurs when the trailer of a commercial vehicle goes into a spin and comes to a 90-degree angle with the tractor when it stops. Truck accident law states that just because the truck has jackknifed it does not mean that the driver is automatically at fault. Jackknifing laws protect the truck driver from being held negligent in the truck accident.
Turning Accidents:
Turning accidents may occur due to a trucks large size. When a large truck turns and takes up two lanes an accident may occur. Turning laws protect the truck driver from being sued.
